Travertine is derived from the Italian word Travertino and also a district near Rome, evoking ancient times where notable buildings have been constructed from this natural product.  A form of limestone deposited from mineral springs, most travertines have a white or cream palette and are extremely durable and hard, ideal as a decorative building stone especially since it is easy to cut. Available in a range of finishes: crosscut, honed, filled, unfilled, distressed, tumbled, or straight cut. Please note, travertines must be sealed for long-term protection.
