BIG news to share!
Materialista® is on maternity leave awaiting her first born and I am excited to guest write for the blog until the "real" Materialista® returns!
And talk about giving birth and excitement, our brand new website for ASI/Architectural Systems is almost ready to launch! This truly will be the last blog posted from our current website. ( I know you heard that before!)
It has been a monumental process for us to build you, the design professional, a user experience that is seamless, current and vertically integrated.
The anticipated enhancement we are striving for is: you will be able to request samples and quotes easily (!) and order product online…

May was a big design month in NYC! The ICFF show coincided with the Retail Spring Market, and ASI was a proud sponsor of the Retail Design Institute’s 48th Annual Awards gala on 5/22 at the Current event space located at the Chelsea Piers.
Lots of winners for innovational experiential store design. Although the retail landscape keeps shifting, exceptional shops are still driving people in and we saw fabulous examples from around the world. Congratulations to all!
L’Occitane en Provence, 555 Fifth Avenue, is 2018 Store of the Year!
If you want to experience more exciting retail, make sure to visit Hudson Yards!
We were personally invited to an extraordinary evening there the night before it was open to the public. The multi-use space includes high end residential, dining, corporate buildings and very curated retail.
The brilliant piece was adding restaurants throughout that are destination places, reversing the paradigm of grabbing a bite while you shop…. It’s now all about dine, peruse the stores and buy!
I first highlighted the amazing Hudson Yards project in a 2014 IIDA HOSPITALITY FORUM I co-Chaired for many years. Watch the video here……
And here is a guide to the Shed, the $475 million arts center, to experience and enjoy!
I promise, Hudson Yards will not disappoint and let me know what your favorite place is there.
