"The space that we designed for the Doha Jewelry and Watches Exhibition was a
temporary showroom with two shop-in-shops. The challenge from the client was to
create a space which would be representative of both the cultural heritage and the
new identity of a middle eastern department store.

The solution for the pavilion was an evocative, Arabic-village spareness, but updated
with luxurious finishes and a contemporary sensibility. For the main entrance into the
space, we created a soaring, free-standing, vaulted portal, clad in Eco-Essence®. The
material gave the importance, sense of luxury and refinement that we were seeking
for the entire project.

The seamlessness of working with ASI and the rapid response to requests was so
very typical of the working relationship Callison, and I, have always enjoyed. The
client was extremely pleased with the outcome of this partnership as well."

"The concept was to create a casual dining space which embodies the spirit of Colorado do-it-yourself outdoor sports. The site posed the challenge to create an invigorating retail presence across an 80 foot long façade in a dark, narrow section of the concourse. We designed a sculptural landscape-like form to envelop the length of the façade with an unusual silhouette. ASI’s Sculptured™ Collection allowed us to suggest the dynamic landscape, helping us create a transportive experience which simultaneously roots the traveler to place while imbuing guests with the adventurous spirit of Colorado.

 

The storefront valence is created from a matrix of Sculptured™ MDF panels which have a snow-drift texture. Inside, these panels are used as fronts for the bar and take-out counters.

 

Iconic from far, textured up close, and dynamic at any scale, ASI’s Sculptured™ Collection enabled us to create a unique and memorable architectural statement."

"When designing the artist studio and guest bath additions in this private home, we were to provide radiant heating under the finished floor. The floor tile needed to help retain the heat and be non-stainable, non-porous, washable and durable.

We selected ASI Eco Porcelain in a warm, neutral gray tone to match the neutral color palette necessary for an artist’s studio, and the large 24” x 24” tiles really made a strong design statement.

The challenge for the guest bath was to find flooring tiles to balance the color palette of the glass tile in the shower, as well as a matching marble slab for the vanity. ASI Natural Stone, in a warm travertine marble, offset the cool blue-green color of the glass. The floor tile was set on a diagonal to enliven the formality of the classic design.  ASI was able to provide all these material solutions, including the matching slab."

"As we all know, finding a white or off white wood floor that looks as good a year later as it did the first day it was installed is always a challenge. Architectural Systems helped us to achieve a beautiful ivory stained bamboo floor that Bloomingdale’s can easily maintain. ASI supplied all the wood floors for this project, which also included black and chocolate stained oak flooring. I like to be informed about all of the potential pros and cons of a product when I request a sample, and ASI did a great job of providing me with the information I needed to inform my client. The samples arrived in a timely fashion, as Architectural Systems was always available to address any issues or questions."

"Our objective for the Lucy project was to create a more dynamic and energetic store environment with a clean, precise aesthetic to reflect the company's focus on performance activewear. We also wanted a design palette with softness and warmth.
 
By pairing two very different ASI Flooring materials, Ecotextures® - Flooring & Porcelain Collection, we created a sense of movement and helped define different merchandising zones in the space.

The team at Lucy, including Dawn Eikenberry, Director of Store Development, and Letitia Barajas, Visual Merchandising Manager, relied heavily on the expert team at ASI to achieve not only our design goals but our operational goals as well. We found products within our budget that we knew would last in our heavily trafficked stores. We are very pleased with the results."

"Aside from its breathtaking views of the Lincoln Center and Central Park, the inspiration for the design of the Rowe Residence stems from the New York idea of “luxury entertaining.” The spaces use a playful yet sophisticated mix of materials, artwork and iconic furniture pieces. The space’s circular pattern systematically links ASI flooring and a track lighting system together to lead a guest along the “great path” which stretches from the entrance to the dining room. To create this path, Architectural Systems provided a beautiful Brazilian cherry wood floor for the space that not only pleased me as the designer with its sophisticated aesthetic, but also eased the client with its cost efficiency. ASI’s professionalism, delicate eye to craft and customer service is ahead of its game and is why I continue to return to this major resource again and again."

"The Hotel Union Square project was a great challenge. The real goal was to create an aesthetic which wouldn't date itself in five years and would appeal to a broad spectrum of tastes. The high ceilings draw the eye upwards, and are visible from the street, so I wanted a signature branding idea for the ceiling. The Sculptured panels serve as art and light fixture, while cloaking unsightly mechanicals.

As a long time fan of Architectural Systems Inc., I knew I could count on them to deliver a variety of cost efficient and impactful solutions. The hotel owners sought to value engineer many alternatives with various contractors, and in the end Architectural Systems was the clear resolve."
