“We gutted the existing restaurant and created a fresh,
organic, contemporary, yet local Boston atmosphere in
the heart of the city in under 2 months. The property is
a landmark building and we had to respect that. We
couldn’t touch the original terrazzo floors, so we had to
cover it with something that wouldn’t damage it. I looked
everywhere and then I found Eco-Tech™ Resilient Floating
Floor from ASI. Perfect! It went down easily, it’s durable
as anything and shows no wear or scratches. I am going
to use it in more of my projects."

“This flagship spa establishes a new design concept for the brand. The spa, which caters to a diverse clientele, is divided into distinct areas not by walls but by the controlled variation of ceiling height, material, texture, and light level. The Silver Grey tile in the Agglomerate Stone was chosen for the main retail flooring area because its aggregate and matrix combination highlights the major material elements throughout the space."

"The cork vinyl was a perfect floor option for the pilates studio. They needed and easy to maintain and durable surface at an affordable price. The vinyl not only cost less than real cork, but provided a similar tactile surface that feels nice to walk on – most clients are barefoot. The cork vinyl also gives the very open lofty studio an organic textural interest amidst the pilates machines (reformers) and mats."

"The engineered Caribbean Walnut flooring from Architectural Systems, Inc. selected for the Aquavit Cafe, Lounge and Bar areas lends an exotic, luxurious tone to the minimalist environment and is ideal for these high- traffic areas of the restaurant. We looked at more than 30 wood samples before selecting ASI Wood Flooring for its quality, ease of installation and maintenance. The flooring material fulfilled the design intent we shared with the owner and chef of Aquavit, linking the cuisine of Scandinavia with contemporary Scandinavian design. Additionally, though the flooring is for a commercial application, the space requires the intimacy of a residential interior."

"For the design of Quality Meats, we chose ASI's reclaimed End Grain Wood Blocks as the signature material, a perfect modern reference to the early 1900's butcher shop cutting boards we used as inspiration for the design. Taken out of its industrial context, the rich texture of the end grain creates a lush backdrop in key transition areas of the restaurant — entranceways, staircases and the private dining rooms. Finding the right products for the project is key to our design philosophy, and ASI provided the material that perfectly suited the aesthetic and the concept."

"Traveling through Mexico, and supplementing it with some research, I was inspired by the brightly colored tin ornaments, "milagros," created by Oaxacan craftsmen and decided to encrust one of El Centro's walls with them. These colors then became the palette for the environment. Amazingly, leafing through Interior Design magazine, I saw the editorial on the new Shimmer vinyl flooring from ASI and made an appointment at the showroom to specify and order the material that day. The colors matched perfectly, coordinating the milagros, Jarritos bottles (utilized as the bar front), the multihued grosgrain ribbon window treatments and paint colors. The space is a colorful fiesta, bright and happy, a perfect spot to liven up with a margarita and some really great Mexican food."
